Missouri Class One Girls Basketball District Seedings and Overall Ratings 2/18/2025
If you are a class one girl's coach that is looking for the best evidence to get your team seeded in the appropriate slot at your District basketball seed meeting, then you need to print this off and take it with you.
Gramps Braggin' Rights ratings have predicted 85% of the winners in district, sectional and state brackets for over eight years. It's the best form sheet for Missouri basketball.
Here are Gramps and Coach Mike B's ratings for district seeding, with comments and state predictions below the chart:
District One - Delta is the clear favorite and will have a tough sectional game with District 2 champion, Chadwick or Bunker.
District Two: Chadwick is the favorite but Bunker could challenge. The winner of the sectional game could go far into the state bracket but the top of the bracket (districts 1-8) are loaded with the best teams.
District Three: Hurley is the clear favorite but won't get past their District Four opponent in the sectional.
District Four: Liberal and Lockwood should fight this one out for the district title, with Liberal a slight favorite. After a win in sectionals, one of these teams will be facing an uphill battle in the state bracket.
District Five: Appleton City should easily win their district but will be twenty-point underdogs to Walnut Grove in the sectionals.
District Six: Walnut Grove is a prohibitive favorite, and could reach the state final if they can get past a strong District Seven opponent in their sectional game.
District Seven: District Seven is the deepest in class one with Mack's Creek, St. Elizabeth and Stoutland. Stoutland could win most of the other districts but probably won't be in the district championship game. Mack's Creek is a slight favorite over St. Elizabeth but home court advantage might help St. Elizabeth in a close game. This district winner, if they get by Walnut Grove in their sectional game, could go all the way to the state final.
District Eight: Northwest Hughesville has a slight edge over Chilowee but this district winner will be a 25- or 30-point underdog to the District Seven champ.
District Nine: Northeast Cairo is the best team in class one. It should win the district and go all the way vs. a weaker lower state bracket.
District Ten: North Shelby is a clear favorite but will be about a sixteen-point underdog to NE Cairo in the sectional.
District Eleven: Green City and Princeton are one-two in District Eleven with Green City a slight favorite to win and beat the district twelve opponent in their sectional.
District Twelve: Brunswick and Meadville will be favored with Brunswick about a five-point favorite.
District Thirteen: Sante Fe is a clear favorite and should take their sectional game vs. Gilman City.
District Fourteen: Gilman City is a clear favorite.
District Fifteen: North Andrew and King City will fight it out but North Andrew is hosting and home cooking will help them win. The winner of this district won't get by the District sixteen champ in the sectional.
District Sixteen: Rock Port is a slight favorite over Jefferson/Platte Valley and Mound City. Playing on their home court might give Jefferson an advantage that Rock Port cannot overcome.
Gramps Final Four: Chadwick, Mack's Creek, Northeast Cairo and Rock Port.
Class One Champion: Northeast Cairo
This is the deepest and most highly rated class one field in my memory. It's a tough top ten in class one so Delta, Chadwick, Mack's Creek, Walnut Grove, St. Elizabeth or Northeast Cairo could finish on top.
